Sears Hometown Store - Big Time Inventory, Big Time Customer Service

I admit I do a lot of shopping online. The convenience of e-commerce is incredible. You can buy just about anything online, have price comparisons, and have the item shipped right to your home or business. This is such a great modern convenience that e-commerce sites afford us, the busy consumer. A lot of e-commerce sites have a retail store associated with them, so customers can not only shop online but also in person. Sears is one of the nation's most successful example of a retail store which is enhanced by an online prescense.
Now, in North Kingstown, the Sears tradition is available in a hometown store. The Sears Hometown Store is a locally owned and operated arm of Sears. You can shop for all of the same brands Sears has to offer in their massive catalog and have the added bonus of viewing some of those items right here in North Kingstown. Most Sears shoppers are used to driving to Warwick to check out their products or just shopping the Sears store online. Now, you have the incredible opportunity to view a nice inventory of Sears products right in our hometown.
I visited the store at Kingstown Plaza (6655 Post Rd.) yesterday and felt welcome from the minute I entered the store until I left. The salesman, a brother of the owner Tom Iacobucci, was very friendly and informative on not only the products in the store but also about the Sears brand and tradition. I never felt pressured, rather I felt a sort of calm knowing that the products I typically would buy online are now available right in the store. I can try out a lawnmower or take measurements for the refrigerator I need for my basement or just buy a new socket set from a trusted name like Craftsman. The store was well lit and well laid out. They had a decent supply of items yet the store did not seem overstocked or overcrowded with inventory. Just enough, as they say. Plus, if there is an item I want that is not present, the Iacobucci brothers will order it for me and I can pick it up at the store a few days later.
I missed Tom by a few minutes, mainly because his brother told me he was personally delivering a tractor to a woman’s home. Personal service and attention to recognizing the hometown philosophy of being a good community member is what this store represents. The Sears name is one of the most recognized and respected names in appliances, mowers, Craftsman tools, and other household items. Now, the Sears Hometown Store helps get that message of quality and customer service to local communities such as North Kingstown.
