Special Olympics North Kingstown (SONK) Spring Sports Schedule

As a parent of a child who has benefitted greatly from the Special Olympics North Kingstown programs, we, at the North Kingstown Blog, are so happy to let you know of programs, events, and other happenings of the North Kingstown Special Olympics team. Here is the information for their Spring Schedule:

SPRING SPORTS SCHEDULE 2015

TRACK & FIELD

DATE: starts Sunday, March 29, 2015 (Mandatory Practice)

TIME: 3:00 – 4:00 Under 16

4:00 – 5:00 16 and over

PLACE: North Kingstown HS track

Enter NKHS parking lot from Annaquatucket Rd and drive straight back to entrance to track

IMPORTANT: There will be NO indoor practice this year, so dress appropriately for the weather.

Because we only have 1 practice before Time Trials, March 29th is a MANDATORY practice. So be there rain or shine!!

There will be track & field practice every Sunday except for April 5 (Easter) and April 12(day after time trials). Last practice is May 17. Remember, we will always be outside so dress appropriately.

SWIMMING

DATE: Wednesday, April 1, 2015

TIME: 5:00 – 6:00 pm

PLACE: URI Pool, Keaney Gym

You need to check in at the front desk and get a swim pass. If you are participating in swimming please fill out the enclosed waiver and bring it to the first practice.

There will be NO swim practice on May 13, 2014.

CYCLING

If you are interested in participating in cycling, please contact Coach Mike at 477-2968.

DATES: March 22 – Powerlifting Trials, Trudeau Center

TBA – Swim Time Trials, URI

April 11 - East Bay Area Games, Gaudet Middle School

May 29-31 – State Summer Games, URI

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • If you have been notified that your physical expires before URI, updated physicals must be in by April 1st.

  • Fill out the enclosed/attached Registration Form and bring it to the first practice. Follow this link to the form section of www.sonk.com.

  • If you’re a swimmer, bring the waiver to the first practice and turn it in at the registration desk.
