Wickford Art Association and RIAEA award scholarships to local art students

Each year the Wickford Art Association (WAA) gives away $5000.00 in scholarship money to 3 high school seniors who have been accepted into an art college. One student per any RI public high school may be selected from each school to have their portfolio submitted to be judged for one of 4 awards given. The WAA gives $5000.00 and the RIAEA (RI Arts Education Association) gives a $500.00 Presidential award. An awards ceremony will be held at the Wickford Art Association to honor the 4 top winners and the 6 honorable mentions on Sunday, March 22nd at 3pm.
The 2015 scholarship winners are:
First Place Award ($2500): Hunter Brokaw, Portsmouth High School (Educator: Nancy Brandley)
Second Place ($1500): Kyle Richer, Cumberland High School (Educator: Betsey Macdonald)
Third Place ($1000): Kayla Spirito, Ponaganset High School (Educator: Nancy Boyden)
Fourth Place (President's Award, $500.00): Katie Gaboriault, Lincoln High School (Educator: Susan Kolenda)
